Having worked with Jon for many years, where he oversaw Procurement as part of his Group Operations Director role, I always knew Jon had the ability to attract very competitive deals without jeopardising the supplier relationship or indeed service level.
I have always stayed close with Jon, and when he set his business up, it coincided with when a few of our key contracts were due for review.
We gave Jon the opportunity to review two of the biggest contracts and quite frankly we were absolutely delighted with the results that Jon has produced.
Whilst I won't disclose the exact detail, I am happy to share that the amalgamated savings that Jon created over a 3-year contract period across these two contracts will be in excess of £295,000.
We met Jon and gave him the brief on what we wanted him to look at. Jon needed some background data, and once he had this, he then worked remotely reviewing the data, he proceeded to liaise with key players in the marketplace to obtain the best quotations (all with our approval). After achieving a much enhanced proposal from both a financial and service level perspective, Jon then facilitated and attended an introductory meeting with a new provider to ensure a seamless transition.
On the basis we do not have someone solely responsible for Procurement the service that Jon offered was perfect for us - post the briefing Jon worked diligently in the background before presenting his findings / opportunities to us in a format that we could easily understand. This allowed is to make an informed decision on how we move forward. There was no interference on our day-to-day business - it all just happened in the background.
Given this, I would have no problem recommending Jon to any business, especially now given the enhanced focus on cost control that every business is inevitably experiencing.

Across the Peter Vardy Group we had a number of key contracts expiring and we needed to understand and make sure we were getting the most competitive rates in the marketplace.
